jameson's last day of kindergarten...june 9, 2011

most thankfully, jameson's last day of kindergarten was quite anti-climactic.  which was a great relief.    jim, natalia, and i went to pick him up on the last day - which was a 1/2 day ending at 11:45am.  he was ready to go...not interested in making any chit chat with mrs. richter.

and, honestly, i sorta didn't know what to say to her either.  how do you adequately thank someone for this?  she's a really great teacher and fit his personality perfectly...very laid back, quiet, easy going.  yet, i could tell that she loves/loved him.  her most favorite student ever?  likely not.  but, it was a good year with a good teacher.  i'm very grateful it was her there for him in his first year of full time school.

we went out to lunch to celebrate and then i took the kids to the park in newburg while jim cut the lawn.  see?  anti-climactic.  after the chaos and drama of his first day, i'm a-ok with it though.

so that's that.  jameson's done with kindergarten.  he's a little below levels in reading, but did really well with everything else.  we're going to go to the library regularly this summer to try to catch him up with reading.  i'm not too worried though, he's reading every road sign, traffic sign, billboard, etc with ease.

earlier in his last week, his class had a "writing workshop" celebration where they read their writings to us.  super cute.  jameson wrote about camping from just a few days before.

translation:  "i went camping.  i roasted marshmallows and the smores.  they were good. yummy.  the swimming pool..."  he goes on to say the pool was getting setup, but not open yet. ;)
