natalia-ism

another natalia-ism that needs recording:

hammaburg - hamburger... :)

summer 2010

our summer has been fun! there have been some pretty exciting storms, but
luckily, so far we've ended with rainbows (and no damage to any
property!)

we
got new kittens. jameson's kitty's name is speckles. not sure why, he has no
speckles or spots to speak of. but, he's quite cute and quite tiny. and, i think
he's a girl.
.

natalia's kitty's name is bill. yeah. who knows. oh, and this was only a couple days after we got them...his eyes aren't gunky anymore.

we splashed/played in the rain! talia's having a blast here. jameson's not
featured here because he wasn't wearing anything when he decided to splash. :P

we visited family in mn for a great party to celebrate a wedding, new house, and
a baby-to-be...all for the same couple (my cousin kelly and her dear husband
joe).

it has been HOT. so, we cool off by sitting in buckets of water. since it was
dinner time...and they were held "captive" in said bucket, i fed them dinner.
sue me.

post edit: i hate blogger. previewing this post, the text looks great...pictures all lined up. publish and KABLOOOOEY, it looks like crap. sorry, i'm too frustrated to fix.

"dead or alive" and "g.r.o." ...

two quick stories...
1. jim had on one of the various music channels the other day and bon jovi's dead or alive came on.

jim asked jameson, "jameson, what song is this?"
jameson's reply, "the crab fisherman song."

great. my son's only reference to my favorite band. ever. is crab fishing. :P

2. i came home from work last week and jim says to natalia, "ok, ready? let's sing it!"

he proceeds to sing something that sounds like, "G R O lasallerangreat." recognize it? no? i didn't either. until he sang it another twenty times and then finally added, "...those were the days..." at the end.

ok, aaaahhhchie, i get it.

(for those still confused... "Gee our old Lasalle ran great, those were the days..." all in the family)

clone?

so. i've assumed jameson was my look-a-like for a very long time. i was proven wrong at a bday party for jameson's cousin. ok, fine. in february.

jameson's grandmother, mary ann eischen averill, is a spitting image...

see:

jameson's 3 year - ish photo for comparison:

apparently...it's not just me. he looks a heck of a lot like jim's mom...
