so. my 37th birthday was on march 10th. it was a wednesday, so as like any other wednesday i was off to work in the AM. as i was leaving, jameson said:
j: "mommy, are you going to work?"
me: "yes"
j: "but. it's not your birthday if you go to work."
yeah. the brilliance of child logic. i did go to to work. but, i had coffee and chocolate cake for breakfast, so it wasn't all bad! :)

take in the day...life...
i found this on another blog {http://enjoyingthesmallthings.blogspot.com/} today and totally agree, so i wanted to share it...especially the blue text...
I think everyone should do it. I take my camera everywhere. And, when I look through that viewfinder, I see so much more. The clouds are bluer, the sun is brighter, the trees speak. I notice every little strand of Lainey's blonde heap, the mess of lashes she's blessed to possess, and the tiny swirls that make up the cowlick of Nella's wispy brown hair. I photograph something in our life every single day. And because of it, I don't need a therapist. And, from time to time, I'll spend a good hour or so going back and reliving it, reminding myself just how blessed we are, where we've been, and how far we've come. Like today when I revisited our summer road trip and Lainey's birthday and remembered just how special that was."
even if you're not "into" taking pictures...try to find a way to LIVE and RE-live your lives...because they're worth reliving...:

an update on career goals
apparently, my son has formed some sense of what he wants to be when he grows up...
his latest answer to that question is, "a construction worker". when asked for detail he says he wants to "build stuff" and "cut wood", so we think that means carpenter. but, i would bet he operates an excavator. ;)

jameson was dilly-dallying while eating today, so i was prodding him to take a bite.
first, he said, "i can't eat, i'm tinking."
i replied, "well, take a bite and think while you chew."
jameson's response: "mommy, you can't tink while you're chewin' stuff - then it doesn't get fru your brain!"
